There are now many places that you can enter some figures and get an approximation of your carbon footprint. But what then, what can I actually do, how much will it cost, how much will it save. Oh dear, too complicated, maybe next year!
The idea of an Eco Audit is to do a detailed analysis of your energy and natural resource use. Then make suggestions and follow these up on a regular basis.
I have lost count of the number of people who have proudly installed solar water heating but have little insulation in the roof and no wall insulation. They have spent £2500+ to save £80 per year and are allowing £200 per year escape from their property.
